KitBash3D is looking for an experienced Human Resources professional with a passion for supporting diverse, creative professionals to join our growing team. Our team of artists, producers, software engineers, and marketing professionals provide turnkey 3D models and tools to the biggest film and video game studios as well as thousands of independent artists in over 150 countries. As our Human Resources Director, you will work to ensure KitBash3D is an exciting, rewarding, and safe place for them to work and that we can continue attracting talented professionals to join us.

You will be responsible for building a scalable recruiting pipeline, managing ongoing compliance for a majority remote, distributed team, and working closely with the Head of Operations and company leadership to ensure we can attract and retain world class talent. This is an individual contributor role with the potential to establish a department and supervise a team as the company grows.

You enjoy partnering with department heads to help them achieve their goals as well as coaching them on performance management skills and techniques. You are adept at understanding and managing compliance requirements across multiple jurisdictions without losing sight of our broader strategic goals. You are organized, proactive, and excited to be part of a nimble, growing team.

This position is based in our Portland, Oregon office with flexibility to work a hybrid schedule.

Responsibilities:

Recruiting

  • Own the talent acquisition pipeline with a focus ensuring a diverse, qualified applicant pool and quick time to hire
  • Oversee the recruiting process, partnering with department heads and external recruiters to meet our hiring needs
  • Develop and maintain procedures for recruiting and interviewing
  • Manage our presence on relevant hiring sites and develop our talent brand
  • Proactively source qualified candidates for open positions
  • Manage external recruiters as needed

Onboarding

  • Own the onboarding process for new hires, setting standards and expectations for hiring managers with a focus on employee satisfaction and time to productivity
  • Develop and maintain new onboarding procedures for onboarding new team members with a goal of improving time to productivity
  • Analyze onboarding effectiveness and identify areas for improvement

Retention

  • Identify and implement strategies to celebrate work accomplishments and personal milestones in a way that surprises and delights our team members
  • Foster a creative, fun, and supportive culture by organizing events and bringing team members together with support and collaboration from our leadership team
  • Monitor employee satisfaction and retention metrics and work with leadership to proactively address issues
  • Own the performance management process and ensure reviews are performed in an consistent, timely, and fair manner
  • Coach leadership on best practices for performance management
  • Manage existing benefits programs, and identify and recommend additional benefit programs to remain competitive

Compliance

  • Oversee the design and enforcement of all relevant workplace and hiring policies to maintain a productive and safe environment for our team
  • Manage compliance across multiple states and jurisdictions
  • Perform regular audits of our policies, practices, and systems to ensure compliance and identify any areas for improvement
  • Diligently maintain personnel records with a focus on data privacy and securit

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Human Resources Manager or Business Partner
  • Expertise with relevant federal and state labor laws
  • Experience administering or overseeing payroll and benefits
  • Effective communication and coaching skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or a related field
